At the end of a very challenging year, it feels more important than ever to give back. That’s why the team at Comalatech was eager to participate in our favourite holiday tradition – the annual charity spending spree! Each December, we select several charities to support, and this year we’ve set our goal to give $100,000 CAD.

Along with the usual favourites like Doctors Without Borders and Mercy Ships, our teammates across three different countries – Canada, Spain and Mexico – selected local charities and causes that mattered to them. The Canadian team chose British Columbia-based organizations like the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Autism BC. The Spanish team selected several charities supporting people with mental and developmental challenges including Anfas Navarra and AVIFES. And our newest teammates located across Mexico chose to support children’s charities such as AMANC Zacatecas and FundaciĆ³n Attika.

Our holiday donation program reflects our company values, but also our commitment to the Pledge 1% initiative. Pledge 1% is a global movement that encourages and empowers companies of all sizes and stages to donate 1% of their staff time, product, profit, and/or equity to any charity of their choosing. They provide a simple, flexible, and scaleable model to integrate giving back into the DNA of all companies, especially startups. Take the pledge yourself by visiting their website,
