Comala Workflows version 4.15 has been officially released and with it comes the usual technical enhancements along with one significant addition – an integration with Communardo‘s Metadata for Confluence. Install the update through the Universal Plugin Manager, instructions for which can be found in Atlassian’s documentation. Read on for all the details of this release.

New Metadata for Confluence Support

Our team has been hard at work collaborating with the experts at Communardo to integrate their Metadata for Confluence add-on with our Comala Workflows product. The integration allows the Metadata add-on to act as a value reference supplier for Workflows.

The ability to utilize metadata in building workflows gives Space administrators a flexible new tool for customising the approval process of their pages. Users familiar with our markup language will find working with metadata easy to incorporate into their workflows. There are a variety of ways admins can use the Metadata add-on in their Spaces including:

  • to set up a social intranet
  • for structured documentation, e.g. IT-documentation
  • for setting up knowledge bases like a product directory
  • to create macros which are based on CQL, like the content report table

Our Workflows product can add approval processes to each of those use cases, and many more.
